The Heron
Sometimes people ask about what kind of bird is included in our logo and why we chose it. The bird is a heron, seen along Texas waterways and witnessed by us while fishing the gulf coast.
If you have ever had the pleasure of watching one of these majestic birds for an extended period of time, you already know how beautiful they are. Aside from their beauty however, we have witnessed in them many of the same qualities we find to be a necessity in our own work.
When searching for food, these birds wait with patience capable of filling any observing fisherman with envy of skill. Remaining still, calm, and watching the water around them with intense concentration they choose their movements carefully. Sometimes they spot a fish nearby, but it is not the right opportunity so they wait still. If nothing is coming their way they will scan further, selecting a new path for investigation and navigate in that direction with the utmost of care. It is their ability to act selectively with such diligence and patience that keeps them at the apex of their ecosystem.
