Each year on or about December 31 (or as close to that date as you think about it, write the mileage of your cars down in your calendar. That way, if you need to record mileage used for business purposes, charitable or medical transportation and will either be taking a tax deduction or getting reimbursed, you will have a good point of reference from which to start.
